The central square of Biel is the fulcrum with regard to the traffic routes. From here you can get directly to the train station or the shopping area. The market also takes place on this square and there are many stalls here for the Praderie. The UBS building, which is somewhat reminiscent of London, is striking. All bus lines cross here and the square is the beginning of the car-free pedestrian zone. The Schüss, Biel's "city river", runs under the square. If you follow the Schüss to the west, you come directly to the Strandboden on Lake Biel.
