    The Steinhelle-Medebach narrow-gauge railway
This narrow-gauge railway, which was operated from 1903 to 1953, crossed the Sauerland and also had stops near Olsberg and Wiemeringhausen.
    * Significance: The railway was of great importance for the economic development of the region. It was used to transport goods such as wood, coal and agricultural products.
    * Route: The route ran from Steinhelle on the Ruhr Valley Railway through what is now the Olsberg urban area (including Assinghausen and Wiemeringhausen) to Medebach.
    * Special features: The railway was known for its steep gradients and the two characteristic hairpin bends between Küstelberg and Wissinghausen.
    * Discontinuation: Due to the increasing road traffic, the railway was discontinued in 1953.
What is left of it today?
    * Hiking trail: Today a popular hiking trail follows the former route of the narrow-gauge railway. This not only offers beautiful views, but also insights into the technical masterpiece of the time.

Unguarded railway crossing. Pay close attention.
