The Geological Trail (Geologensteig in German) is a fascinating hiking trail that winds between the Bad Ratzes valley and the Alpe di Siusi, offering a unique experience for nature and geology lovers. Along the route, which starts at the thermal springs of Bad Ratzes at 1,212 meters above sea level and climbs up to the Prossliner Schwaige at 1,740 meters, hikers can admire spectacular rock formations and geological stratifications that tell the thousand-year history of the Dolomites. The trail, enriched by ten information panels, passes by suggestive waterfalls and offers breathtaking views of Mount Sciliar and the Rosszähne. Once you have reached the Schlernbodenhütte, an alpine refuge, you can continue towards the end of the valley and descend along the well-maintained path to Bad Ratzes, thus completing a route that combines natural beauty and geological curiosities.
