Schlernhaus

A truly impressive refuge, which has nothing to do with a "hut". Not for nothing it is also called "castle in the mountains". The Schlernhaus has been around for 140 years. It is wonderfully located and offers you not only delicious culinary delights, but also a cozy accommodation, so that you can find here a nice stage destination for a long two or more days tour.

The Schlernhaus is a great place to stay if you have started a hike from the Alpe di Siusi. For the first day's stage, the distance up to there is also sufficient, since the ascent to Monte Pez is quite steep uphill. The mattresses in the bedrooms are good, the sanitary facilities are clean and the food offered both in the evening and for breakfast is delicious and sufficient.

Wonderful place to rest after a long hike. Dinner between 6-7 pm, so be on time!

Steep but easy climb from Compatsch; On the way to the Tierser Alpl as well ... Great location - particularly recommended is the sunrise from Monte Pez, but requires getting up very early. Historic house in the style of early construction projects - large house with washrooms and bedrooms with warm ceilings; a warm shower since 2019 :-) The view of the rose garden is wonderful ...

The shelter near the Monte Pez is inviting, modern, well equipped and we only met friendly staff although it was busy. The food was good and adequate and not overpriced. A great place to come to new forces after the ascent and before the onward march

Very impressive building that you would not expect in this size.

It is not for nothing that the Sciliar is called the gateway to the Dolomites. The view is gigantic like the castle in the mountains. Food and service is top notch. For the ascent to the Schlernhaus from the Alpe di Siusi and the way on to the Tierser Alpl via the Rosszahn, you only need good shoes and stamina when the weather is nice and dry. You should be free from giddiness and sure-footedness on the tour.

The Schlernhaus on Monte Pez is ideal for an overnight stay. Good mattresses, clean sanitary facilities and delicious food.

If you go up the Bear Trap early in the morning, you will not have the sun in your back all the time. Penultimate bus back to St. Zyprian, shortly after 16h.

Superbly located on the Plateau des Schlern ... From here you can climb in 20 minutes to the summit of the Pez, from which you have a magnificent view of the Alpe di Siusi. In addition, from the hut you have a brilliant view of the various peaks of the rose garden ...

The hospitality was great. Our way back took us over the armchair through the bear trap to Tiers- exhausting, but very impressive

Very friendly atmosphere and good food, it is worth to stay overnight and enjoy the sunrise over the Sassolungo!

If you think about staying there you should dress warmly, the shelter is not heated and cools down to outside temperature. There is only a shower. Totally crowded, not comfortable, were at a we in July there and would not stay there again. Otherwise nice place, impressive all-round view
