The nature development project ‘Vijvercomplex Bokrijk-Kiewit’ aims to restore the former fish breeding ponds for the benefit of nature and tries to develop the area as a large sponge, a climate buffer. The area would be transformed into a unique place in Flanders where visitors can experience the attractive Wijer landscape even better and where one can experience what the landscape used to look like.
