Heimathaus Mussum

The local history house was built in 1994 by the Mussum village community.After many farms had to make way for the newly created industrial area, the village, in its rural origins, no longer existed.The association was then founded in 1989 with the aim of preserving and reworking the rural cultural heritage and maintaining customs. The members lovingly look after the entire area.An original farm garden, in which the beds are separated from each other by boxwood hedges, was created and the typical vegetables for a stew are planted, cared for and harvested every year so that the children can see where their finished vegetables come from.Old agricultural equipment is stored in the coach house and the barn and thus preserved for future generations.At their instigation, the underpass was painted with former buildings from Mussum and impressions of rural life.

There is also a "village fountain" here. However, you cannot draw water from it; it only serves as an object of demonstration or a nice photo opportunity.Or would you rather put up the annual maypole, visit the perennial plant exchange or the harvest market? At the latter, you can see the old agricultural machinery in action and old crafts, such as the clog maker, are also shown.

Even if the local history museum is not open, the location offers a nice place to take a break and a shelter in bad weather.
