The Saint-Rémy church in Hégenheim was inaugurated in 1780, when the parish was still part of the diocese of Basel. This church replaced the destroyed church in the middle of the current cemetery, which was then the mother church of the villages of Allschwil, Hégenheim, Bourgfelden and part of Buschwiller.
