The winding tower stands on a site where a mine was supposed to be built many years ago. Now the landmark is part of an art object.

The pink-painted crown that has adorned the winding tower since April 10, 2024 weighs 2.5 tons. The project is part of an art project between the Hammer Zeche Radbod and the Donar mining site.

Kuray Cetinbaya designed the crown and gave it the name Schach(t)Matt. "I was walking here and when I saw the shaft frame here, I thought it looked like the king on the chessboard, only without a crown. And that's when the idea was born to put the crown on the whole art object."
