The Old Building, originally constructed around 1445 as a granary in the Alemannic style, is considered one of the most beautiful and stately half-timbered houses in Württemberg and houses the museum collection of the Geislingen Art and History Society, founded in 1919.

It was built in 1397 over an older vaulted cellar, and originally, like most buildings in the town, the roof was thatched with straw. In 1503, at the request of the then imperial town clerk, a bay window was added to the paneled room.
In 1800, drawing teacher Eduard Mauch, who was involved in the further construction of Ulm Minster, was born here.
