Panorama Trail near Böke

Böke is a district of Overath. Böke is a Rhenish or Bergian form of beech.The Topographia Ducatus Montani des Erich Philipp Ploennies, Blatt Amt Steinbach, shows that the place of residence already had a court in 1715, which is labeled as stooping. Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as stooping. It shows that the place was part of the Honellschaft Vellingen in the parish of Hohkeppel at that time. The place was close to the Heidenstrasse, an important medieval Altfernstrasse from Cologne via Kassel to Leipzig. Today's state road 84 follows the route of the old mountain path towards Hohkeppel.Due to § 10 and § 14 of the Cologne Law, the municipality of Hohkeppel was dissolved in 1975 and incorporated into Lindlar. Some parts of Hohkeppel were re-merged into the municipality of Overath, including Böke.

The small district of Böke, characterized by agriculture, can be reached via a cul-de-sac from Hohkeppeler Strasse, which connects Heiligenhaus with Hohkeppel. Local locations nearby are Hufenstuhl, Meegen, Gut Ennenbach and Leffelsend.
