Only used by recreational captains. Goods handling and crab fishing no longer play a role. But still very nice to look at. There are numerous, very good restaurants all around.
It is also interesting that the boats are dry at low tide. So don't forget to fold in the sword. A friend had once moored her boat so that it hung in the air at low tide.

You should definitely visit Tönning, the small harbor town at the mouth of the Eider, together with the Multimar Wattforum.
The Wattforum is an information center about the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site.

The Tönning Waterways and Shipping Authority (WSA Tönning) is a waterways and shipping authority in Germany. It is part of the department of the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping, formerly the Waterways and Shipping Directorate North.
It is responsible for the coastal waters up to the 12-mile zone in the area from the Danish border to the mouth of the Elbe, as well as the Eider inland waterway from Rendsburg to the mouth in the North Sea.
