In Franconian Switzerland in the Bamberg district, there is an enigmatic, mystical place: huge monoliths stand in a circle like Stonehenge in a field between Tiefenpölz and Geisdorf. The owner, a civil engineering entrepreneur and fan of the English Stonehenge, built the group himself out of boulders. There are monoliths up to 3 m tall and he is particularly proud of two pairs. Like the English original, they are aligned with the winter and summer solstices.

This stone circle reminds visitors of the legendary Stonehenge in England. However, the Franconian stone group is not quite as old. The monoliths stand in a circle on a field between Tiefenpölz and Geisdorf. In terms of size and age, the group cannot quite keep up with the English original, but the atmosphere created by the fog, sun and clouds can give you goosebumps just as much.
