From here you have a good view of the railway viaduct over the Fulda. A sign explains the bridge. At the time of its construction in 1848, it was the largest railway bridge in Germany with 13 arches, each with a span of 15 metres. It is 283 metres long and around 27 metres high.
Shortly before the end of the war, on March 31, 1945, the middle 7 arches of the bridge were demolished. These were replaced by a single large arch by 1952.
