In 1960, an explosion occurred in the Trinity Church during renovation work, and the church was destroyed by flames.
The surrounding walls were demolished in 1973, followed by the tower in 1987.
In 2004, the foundations were uncovered and the ruins were dedicated as a monument.

In 1270, the first wooden church was built. Later, a stately baroque church was built here. At first, it was assigned to the diocese of Regensburg. After the Reformation, it became Protestant. It was renovated in the 1950s. Shortly before completion, it burned down because a stove caught fire and was not rebuilt. Old views of the town and the magnificent church:
