"Johann Wolfgang von Goethe used the border crossing of the old post road on his journeys to the Bohemian baths Franzensbad, Marienbad and Karlsbad from 1807 to 1812. Here in Beck's inn in Neuhausen he is said to have paused five times according to an information board the border was tight for decades, the guests stayed away, and the inn fell into disrepair, and perhaps life would soon come back here if the Arte Noah Adventure Center were to be realized. "
