One of four Roman Catholic cathedrals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Seat of the Diocese of Mostar-Duvno, currently headed by Bishop Petar Palić.Construction of the new cathedral in modern style began in 1974 with excavations for the foundations. The project was completed in the summer of 1980, partly due to delays, changes to the original plan and architectural deficiencies in the area of the presbytery. The interior is decorated with stained glass and mosaics. During the Bosnian War, the church was badly damaged. Later, it was completely rebuilt.
