The flood protection wall on the Mitterbach is a measure to protect the municipality of Zwölfaxing from flooding. The Mitterbach is a tributary of the Schwechat, which has led to flood disasters several times in the past. The protection wall was built in 2012 and consists of an earthen wall with a concrete wall clad in wood. The wall is around 800 meters long and up to 4.5 meters high. It is intended to protect the village from a 100-year flood.
