Today's "Marienburg" district (part of the Rodenkirchen district) takes its name from this impressive estate, which was temporarily owned by the Gerling family (owners of the Gerling Insurance company). A vast area, preserved as a park to this day, surrounds the villa, although neither the house nor the grounds are open to visitors.
