Cycling

The ancestral home of the noble Buttlar family was a moated castle in earlier times and can be traced back to 1170. For many years the castle was used by the municipality of Buttlar as an administrative building, youth club, etc., but then it gradually fell into disrepair. Since 1999 the two-storey hipped roof building with the round stair tower has been privately owned again and has been extensively restored. The current castle has been used as a holiday home since 2005. schloss-buttlar.de
