Pedunculate oak natural monument
In the wall on the southern edge of the manor grows a pedunculate oak, known as the millennial oak. The actual age of the tree is estimated to be 380 to 500 years. In April 2008 a trunk circumference of 9 meters was measured. This puts it in 23rd place on the list of the thickest oak trees in Germany. The hollow trunk was walled up in the 1970s after children set off fireworks there. The tree was burned in October 2012 and has been badly damaged since then. It is registered with the number 5.12.1 in the list of natural monuments in Detmold. The chest height is 9.85 m (2014).
