The monastery of Sant Miquel del Fai is an old Benedictine monastery located 7 km from the municipality of San Felíu de Codinas, in the Catalan region of Vallés Oriental, belonging to the province of Barcelona.

You can reach a really nice photo spot by crossing a tiny bridge over the river Rossinyol. From there you have a great view over the monastery, the waterfall and the valley.
In November 2018 the monastery was closed due to renovations.

The monastery was founded by Gombau de Besora, lord among other lands of the castle of Montbui in Caldas. In 997, Gombau bought the land from Ramón Borrell. The exact date of the foundation of the monastery is unknown, but in 1006 a community of friars was already installed, Guillemund being its first abbot.

Both the counts of Barcelona and Gombau himself endowed the monastery with important assets. In 1042, Gombau united, as a priory, the Catalan monastery with that of Saint Victor of Marseille in order to guarantee the continuity of the monastery after his death.
