Hiking
In the past, pigs were driven into the forest to be fattened - this sculpture shows a local pig herder. Forest fattening led to the creation of pasture forests, see de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutewald. The practice of grazing cattle in the forests was banned from a forestry perspective due to overuse of the forests, although this practice had been practiced since ancient times. In recent times, the practice has experienced a renaissance, see waldwissen.net/de/waldwirtschaft/nebennutzung/agrarische-waldnutzung/waldweide-als-naturschutzmassnahme

Hiking
The swineherd and his animals live there quietly and comfortably—the animals have seen nature and have been cared for in a species-appropriate manner. The shepherd is still unaware of the hectic, stressful times of today.
