It is the oldest construction preserved in Madridejos. It was erected in the s. XIII sheltered by the Parish of Santa María, to respond to the poorest deceased.
The current reform is from the 18th century. It served as a parish at the beginning of the 19th century when the church of Santa María was in a ruinous state. On the main altar there was a shield that was the origin of the one currently used. It has two doors, the west one being the main one.
