      Our Story

St Catherine's Church on Thomas Street in Dublin, Ireland, was originally built in 1185. It is located on what was once called "Slí Mhór" (Irish: Great Way), an important road leading west through Ireland from Dublin. The church was rebuilt in its current form by John Smyth in the 18th century.

The church was closed in 1966 as the congregation continued to shrink. The following year the church was deconsecrated and for a time was used by Dublin Corporation for exhibitions and concerts. After a period of decline and later renovation, St Catherine's was re-consecrated and has been our place of worship since the late 1990s. (Source:saintcatherines.ie/our-story)

St. Catherine's Church on Thomas Street in Dublin, Ireland, was originally built in 1185. [1] It is located on what was once called "Slí Mhór" (Irish: Great Way), an important road leading west through Ireland from Dublin. The church was rebuilt in its present form in the 18th century by John Smyth (or Smith).

The church was closed in 1966 as the size of the local congregation declined. [2] The following year the church was deconsecrated and for a time used by Dublin Corporation for exhibitions and concerts. [2] After a period of decline and later renovation, St. Catherine's was reconsecrated and has since been the place of worship of the Anglican "CORE" (City Outreach for Renewal and Evangelism) church.
