A 4-star mountain hotel with a souvenir shop downstairs and a museum. The museum contains much of the history of Mount Cook and the surrounding area.
Very interesting is the exhibition on Sir Edmund Hillary. The New Zealander climbed Mount Everest on May 29, 1953 as the first human in the world.
Highly recommended is the short film Mount Cook Magic in 3D, costs 20 NZ $ (about 12 €) and includes a 48h passport for the museum and all other movie ideas. The 20 NZ $ are worth it!

Hiking

A large, very good hotel in Mt Cook Village, in the luxury mountain lodge style. An excellent base for treks and activities around the Mt Cook / Aoraki area. Staff are excellent. Rooms are spacious - make sure you get one floor-to-ceiling windows and great views of Mount Cook. 2 main dining options - a full service restaurant and a high quality buffet.
