Hiking
Macchie is the name given to a shrub heath that has developed in former forest areas after deforestation and grazing. This typical vegetation of low-growing, mostly shrubby, evergreen small trees and bushes is very common in the Mediterranean region. You can also usually find olive trees, pines, oaks, cypresses and various types of herbs. It smells strongly of wild rosemary and the spicy mastic bushes. Rockroses are also typical.
