A beautiful classical fountain, which stands here on the Oldesloer Rathausmarkt. The Gänseliesel, although without a historical background, could easily have sprung from a Grimm fairytale.

Especially on hot summer days, many passers-by cool off their feet and hands briefly in the Gänselieselbrunnen on the Oldeslo market square. But what is the story behind the fountain?
Even before today's Gänselieselbrunnen was built, there was said to have been a fountain at this point.
In its current form, the Gänselieselbrunnen was donated to the city in 1926 by the Oldeslo entrepreneur Friedrich Bölck.
It was built by the sculptor Richard Kuöhl (1880 - 1961).
The name Gänseliesel was a typical name in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the collective artistic representation of a girl in connection with geese.
The Göttinger Gänseliesel or the Gänseliesel from Monheim am Rhein, which even made it into the city's coat of arms, are particularly famous. But the Oldesloer Gänseliesel is also known far beyond the district's borders and can be described as one of the landmarks of the district town.

I was very impressed by the city.
Filled with life and very nice preserved houses, actually did an extra round.
Really worth a visit.
here is something else from the web:
