Beautiful little village. Monterosso al Mare is an Italian municipality (comune) with 1371 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2022) in the province of La Spezia, Liguria region. It is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre. 12 m above sea level. The fishing village on the Ligurian coast is the largest town in the Cinque Terre and part of the national park of the same name on the Ligurian coast (Riviera di Levante) between La Spezia and Sestri Levante. Monterosso is the northernmost of the five villages, all of which lie on a coastal strip around twelve kilometers long. Monterosso stretches for around 1.5 kilometers and is divided into two parts: the small old town is separated from the newer district of Fegina by a rock jutting out into the sea, on which the striking watchtower Torre Aurora from the 16th century rises. A pedestrian tunnel around 100 meters long leads through the rock.

Cinque Terre is the name given to five neighboring communities on the Italian Riviera. These coastal villages are known for their colorful houses, cliffs, vineyards, and charming restaurants and cafés! The towns are easily accessible by train or boat.

There are nice shops there where you can buy food or souvenirs.
