A block construction identifies the place known as Las Maretas. If we go up a few meters we can in fact see the two enormous water tanks, dug by hand in the 1940s, to collect and store the rainwater conveyed by the capture channels. The pipes, still visible in some sections of the path, brought water to the village of Tias until the desalination plants came into operation, around 1965.
