The eight statues were signed by Francesco Silva and the date of completion (1635 or 1626) was written on the stool on which Christ sits, although it is difficult to read it.Giovanni Serodine from Ticino was recently mentioned as the sculptor of the bearded thug behind Christ and the halberdier, who is said to have assisted Silva in the execution of the statuary group, which was then restored by Agostino Silva in 1701.The frescoes are by the Recchi brothers
