The old pump house supplied the Wiesneck settlement with groundwater via a reservoir because the springs originally used often dried up in the summer.

Operation ceased in 1966 when the settlement was connected to the public water supply. The old reservoir was demolished.

Next to the pump house stands an artwork symbolizing the three streams that converge near Kirchzarten to form the Dreisam River. Also present is a historic bench from the Freiburg ironworks, Fauler.
