The Westernielandstermaar or Nielandstermaar for short is a maar in the north of the Hogeland region in the Dutch province of Groningen. The river starts from the Pieterbuurstermaar at the Fraelemaheerd farm and flows from there in an east-northeast direction past the Huninga and Zijlbrugge farms to the former location of the Hiddingezijl near Westernieland, where a chamber was located until the 1980s.
