Møns Klint is very impressive – a top highlight and highly recommended.

Møns Klint is a cliff over 8 kilometers long and up to 128 meters high in the east of the island of Møn. It consists of dazzling white chalk, which was forced up from the subsoil by the enormous pressure of the ice during the last Ice Age (the Weichselian Ice Age). This raised the entire eastern part of the island of Møn to a higher level than the rest of the island. The counterpart to the chalk cliffs of Møn are the chalk cliffs of the island of Rügen, located 60 kilometers to the south, which were formed at the same time and in the same way.

Møns Klint owes its jagged appearance to the forces of the Baltic Sea and the various weather influences (ice, frost, rain, etc.), which have constantly changed the appearance of the coast over the last 4,000 to 5,000 years and continue to do so today.
