Of course, Little Island looks very special from a distance. When you visit it is mostly “just” a park, but a very beautiful one! When you walk here you will find many different types of trees, shrubs and a few hundred other species of plants. This means it can rightly be described as a green oasis in the Hudson. There are hiking trails that lead to the highest points on the island and offer beautiful views of Manhattan, New Jersey and the river around you.Don't forget to look for an arch that leads to the "secret garden." This garden is full of all kinds of white flowers. Little Island has three grassy areas where you can enjoy the sun and a picnic. There are free toilets in the park, which are located in a cave-like environment.
