The Vltava and the Vltava islands
A small district of Prague on the river is also called the "Venice on the Vltava". The river is a lifeline of the city: Of course, today it no longer has the high importance as a transport route. But for the development, the mood and the appearance of the city, it is essential, it shapes Prague.
From the Charles Bridge, the Kampa peninsula is already well visible. Along the river you can walk to it and discover a piece of old Prague. It is actually a peninsula, even if it separates only a small stream (Teufelsbach, Čertovka) from the land. Many houses are built directly on the (or in) water, this neighborhood is often compared with Venice.prag.sehenswuerdigkeiten-online.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/moldau.html

One or the other bar with local flavor can be found close to the banks of the Vltava. While the day belongs to the tourists, locals also mingle here in the evening. You are offered a fantastic view of the Charles Bridge, which shines when it is lit by the sun.
