The oldest part of the church is a Romanesque tower from the 13th century, made of tuff and coal sandstone. This was raised in the 14th century, which was made of marlstone. The current nave was also built in the Gothic style in the 14th century. Marl stone was used for this. The current choir dates from the 15th century and was made of coal sandstone and marlstone. The southern aisle was widened around 1525 and a sacristy was added at the end of the 16th century. In 1842 the tower was raised again, now made of brick, and equipped with a lantern with a helmeted roof. The southern aisle was also brought under one roof with the nave.

The church was restored in 1973-1974.

In the church you will find bluestone pillars with mesh capitals. The nave has a flat ceiling and the side aisles have cross vaults. The church has three Baroque altars from about 1700, 17th century choir stalls, an 18th century communion rail in rococo style, and a 17th century confessional. The marble baptismal font dates from 1830.

There are also various wooden statues, such as a large crucifix from the 1st half of the 16th century, a small crucifix from the 18th century, statues of saints such as Saint Ambrose (2nd half of the 16th century), two Madonnas (17th and 18th century), Saint -Lucia (17th century), Saint Lambert and Saint Joseph (1st quarter of the 17th century). There are also statues made in terracotta: Saint Anne with Mary and Saint Barbara (17th century).
