Hiking

Here you walk along the former route of the tram line that connected the coal mines of Genk with the Liège industrial area. Construction started in 1908. An earthen wall was constructed right through the Kattenberg here over a distance of 700m in order to bridge the height difference between the station and the hamlet of Leten. The steam tram was put into use in 1910. It was finally decommissioned in 1948.
