Aansluitend op de uitstap met het werk, had ik bijgeboekt voor wat me-time. Kwestie van het nuttige met het aangename te koppelen. 😉 Oostende wordt niet voor niets Koningin der Badsteden genoemd. Er valt niet enkel veel te beleven maar het is er enorm proper. Met het werk brachten we een bezoek met gids. Geen evidentie voor iedereen om tot daar te geraken. De gids legde alle plantjes uit en de soorten bodems en gewassen. Het Zwin is een unieke combinatie van een bezoekerspark en een natuurgebied. Graaf Léon Lippens lag aan de basis. In 1952 stichtte hij het natuurreservaat ‘Het Zwin’. Het was meteen het eerste Vlaamse reservaat. Provincie West-Vlaanderen en het Agentschap Natuur en Bos bouwden samen het voormalige Zwin om tot het huidige Zwin Natuur Park. Het nieuwe Zwin Natuur Park werd officieel geopend op 10 juni 2016.
