In the 1820s, General von Witzleben acquired the area around the Lietzensee and had a large park and country house laid out on the west side. After his death, it was given the name Park Witzleben by cabinet order in 1840.

Many old and mighty trees (including plane trees) characterize the park. In between there are a few sculptures, numerous benches and some special trees, such as a plum tree.

Nice park around the lake, only totally overcrowded on weekends when the weather is nice and not recommended for ambitious runners. A nice, nice route during the week.
