The Oldendorfer Totenstatt (approx. 1.5 km from Oldendorf/Luhe) is a significant, historical burial site in a picturesque heathland in the Luhe valley. It is one of the most fascinating archaeological monuments in the Lüneburg Heath. The site documents a burial culture spanning millennia from the Mesolithic to the Iron Age (and up to the 6th century AD).

Fleeing the Rhineland Carnival, we found ourselves in the wintry Lüneburg Heath. The burial ground truly impressed us. A visit to the ancient megalithic tombs is definitely worthwhile.
