The settlement was mentioned in 1295 as a border town between the Templar estates and Brandenburg. After the 30-year war, it was completely abandoned. In the mid-18th century, an estate and a paper mill were established here. The village changed owners many times. In 1660, it was owned by Hans von Schlabrendorf, commandant of the fortress in Kołobrzeg, then by the von Schöning and Wreech families, and in 1822 by Amelia von Dönhoff. In 1924, the estate was parceled out.
A classicist palace from the turn of the first half of the 19th century, rebuilt several times (currently a social welfare home).
A vast landscape park (17 ha) established in 1834 according to the design of the famous garden builder Piotr Józef Lenne. The park has 2 ponds with islands, avenues and many monumental trees, including: beautiful specimens of oaks, hornbeams, elms (circumference up to 500 cm) and poplars (circumference up to 610 cm).
