The sunken road of Stierke cuts the Stierke meadow, a plot of the Koeheide nature reserve on the edge of Bertembos, in half. It was the sunken road that brought the people of Leuven to Bertembos for centuries. The road was used as a landfill for years and was made open and accessible again more than 10 years ago by the Dijleland Regional Landscape.
