The parish church of Rummen, dedicated to Saint Ambrose, has an iron sandstone portal built around 1770 with a brick section above it from the end of the eighteenth century. Interesting for those interested in the village and its history: the beautiful, albeit somewhat damaged (woman's nose) grave monument of Jean Hoen, known as Jean de Hoen since he became a grave, and his wife. Hoen or de Hoen died in 1649 and built the beautiful moated castle of Rummen, of which today you can still see parts of the beautiful monumental castle farm and the ruin of one of the towers on Kasteelstraat. There is also a mausoleum of Countess M.-H. de Hoen, died in 1772. Otherwise a classicist tower and nave with a stucco ceiling. Before the construction of this classicist church, there was a Romanesque church where the abbey of Averbode had the patron rights and tithes of the parish since 1234. This Romanesque church went up in flames in 1741. The current one was probably designed by Grégoir Godissar (1708-1780). ), lay brother in the abbey of Averbode. At the front of the church you can still see a recent statue of the Sacred Heart (just like at the nearby old town hall). There is a cemetery (older) around the church and behind it where a church road runs.
