The beautiful baroque church was completed in 1677 and, with its oval dome, has become a model for other church buildings, such as the Karlskirche in Vienna. In 1783, Emperor Josef II handed over the newly founded parish of Rossau to the Servite Order.

A detour to the Rossauer Parish Church "Annunciation of Mary" in Vienna is worthwhile for several reasons:1. **Architecture and history**: The Rossauer Parish Church is an impressive example of historicism, especially neo-Gothic. It was built between 1868 and 1875 and is the work of the architect Friedrich Schmidt, who also designed the Vienna City Hall. The church impresses with its magnificent facade, high towers and elaborate tracery, which is typical of neo-Gothic architecture.2. **Interior and artwork**: The interior of the church is just as impressive as the facade. The high, vaulted ceiling and elegant columns create an awe-inspiring atmosphere. The altars, stained glass and sculptures are particularly worth seeing. The stained glass windows show detailed biblical scenes and are a fine example of 19th century ecclesiastical art.3. **Significance and history**: The church plays an important role in the history of the Viennese district of Alsergrund. For a long time, it served not only as a religious place, but also as a cultural and social center of the community. It also reflects the history of the Catholic Church in Vienna, especially in the context of the 19th century.4. **Location and surroundings**: The Rossauer Parish Church is located in a charming part of Vienna that is rich in history and culture. A stroll through the surrounding streets offers numerous discoveries, from historic buildings to small cafes and shops. There are also other attractions nearby, such as the Sigmund Freud Museum or the Augarten. So a visit to this church not only offers an insight into the religious and architectural history of Vienna, but also the opportunity to explore one of the less touristy but very authentic parts of the city.
