There are numerous burial mounds here, some of which date back to the Viking era and earlier centuries. Information boards provide detailed information about the history and grave goods. In the island's museums you can also get the free "hünen.kultour" map, which lists all of the important burial mounds and megalithic graves on Sylt with suggested tours.
