The station was first established in 1890. The reception building was added in 1898, as the architectural style of the reception building suggests. Another outbuilding with a laundry room, woodshed, and toilet was demolished in 1945. Nothing remains of the loading track and goods shed built in 1904. In 1906, Wiesthal received a post office. This remained in operation until 1929. In the same year, a telegraph station with telephone service was established. The underpass with its wooden roofs that can be seen today was built in 1944. The station has been unmanned since 1974, and the reception building is used privately. With the decommissioning of Heigenbrücken station, the signal box has been controlled by the new Wiesthal Interstate Interchange since June 2017.

October 1, 1854 The Royal Bavarian Ludwigs West Railway, now the Main-Spessart Railway, officially begins operations.

October 3, 1890 The Wiesthal railway station opens.

1898 Construction of the main operations building.

May 2024 - November 2025 Platform 1, the underpass, the parking lot, and the access road are completely renovated.
