    In 1833 George Granville 2nd, the Duke of Sutherland, embarked on an extensive rebuilding project on the estate.
    The statue was completed in 1835 and sits proudly atop the hill that overlooks the Trentham Estate.
    There is a picnic bench that is a perfect resting spot after the ascent and it offers a beautiful perspective.
