Above the forest area, in the meadows, springs the "Dürre Bächel" stream. This small water supply was used.
Carl Friedrich Welliner had a flour mill built here in 1848. The
"Hansenmühle" (Hansen Mill) is named after the nickname of its builder.
Later, the mill was abandoned and converted into a woodworking workshop. In 1926, Paul Engelhardt built a carpentry shop, which his grandson, master carpenter Egon Krauß, continues today. The mountain behind the forest area is the "Hlirschstein," with a height of 661 meters. The last lynx in the area was shot in this rocky area in 1767.
