The Sanatorium of Teide is not very well known as it is well camouflaged and hidden between lava flows that prevent it from being seen. This building was never used, only the doctor's house and services could be built. The progress of medicine led to the sanatoriums becoming less important and in this case the work was paralyzed so that the rooms for the patients were not built. Before this construction, the sick came here and built their small shelters out of branches and stones, staying in Las Cañadas del Teide in spring, summer and autumn, in search of the mild climate ideal for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
