I can only agree with the previous contributions: historically just very interesting. The exhibition is simply expressive and informative and obsessed with details. I found it a shame that the exhibition was designed to be extremely read-intensive (a lot of content summarized on a page-by-page basis, supplemented by photos and documents). It would be nice to have multilingual audio guides so that foreigners and those with less reading skills can understand everything. Modern presentation technology (with screens, etc.) or interactive elements, so-called hands-on activities, would have loosened up everything and also appealed to and inspired children and young people (e.g. treetop path and museum). But overall recommendable for adults interested in history.

This contrast will probably not exist for a long time, as the reconstruction of the building continues to advance. I would very much appreciate it if this contrast could be considered for a long time.

The longest building built by the National Socialists measures four and a half kilometers. On May 2, 1936, the Nazi organization Kraft durch Freude (KdF) laid the foundation stone for the holiday complex in Prora on the island of Rügen, which consists of eight blocks of identical construction in a row. This is one of the few monumental projects of the National Socialists that was at least partially realized. The facility on the Baltic Sea between the towns of Binz and Sassnitz, primarily designed by the architect Clemens Klotz, impressively documents the megalomania of the Nazi era. The overall design was even awarded the Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937.

Absolutely visit- here you will learn everything about the never finished KdF seaside resort Prora - from the planning to the current state. In addition to many texts and posters runs a very informative film with many historical recordings and there is a model on which the gigantic proportions of Plant can guess. Also interesting - the exhibition about the German "Volksgemeinschaft".

Who would have thought that this amazing building would find a purpose. Whether you like it is a matter of taste, I now like the renovated houses. Small shops and cafes can be found along the building

Historically a must. Unfortunately not in good condition. It is being restored, but more could be done. The exhibition is really good and worth it, not just for history enthusiasts. Not recommended for families.

Prora is part of the Baltic Sea resort of Binz and is located on the Prorer Wiek, the most beautiful bay on the island of Rügen. The approximately 4.5 km long complex was built here on behalf of the "NS-Gemeinschaft Kraft durch Freude" between 1936 and 1939 and largely completed.
The complex is a listed building. Alongside the "Reich Party Rally Grounds" in Nuremberg, it is the largest unified architectural legacy of the National Socialist era. 20,000 people were supposed to vacation here.

The Prora Documentation Center was founded in 2000 to close a gap in the memory landscape of the Federal Republic of Germany. It shows the permanent exhibition MACHTUrlaub, which places Prora and the state organization of leisure time under National Socialism in the context of power politics and thus contributes to the destruction of long-lasting myths about National Socialism.
